Ekelund
Ekelund is a Swedish family business whose ancestors can be traced back to the 15th century and which was founded in 1692. The family has been producing textiles with exceptional craftsmanship for 18 generations. Their timeless designs, which are inspired by Scandinavian nature and Nordic patterns, make you want to be at home.
All production takes place in their own factory in Horred on the Swedish west coast, around 60 kilometres south-east of Gothenburg: around 30 employees take care of the entire production chain, from design to the finished product, from importing the yarns to weaving, preparing and making up.
The rainbow technique patented by Ekelund, also known as pixel weaving, has revolutionised the art of weaving and is used for many of their designs.
Only high-quality natural materials, predominantly organic linen from Belgium and France and organic cotton that offer lasting value and contribute to a sustainable lifestyle - that is Ekelund. It was one of the first textile companies in the world to be awarded the Good Environmental Choice label back in 1995. The company consistently promotes environmental awareness: production is resource-conserving and has been certified in accordance with the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) since 2016.
